Alexa (http://www.alexa.com/), whom watches for international internet websites visitation, has updated new results for http://www.xtradime.net/ (managed by xtraDimension, from Universiti Sains Malaysia). A better ranking means that our visitor has increased and daily view also increased.

In simple word, http://www.xtradime.net/ has gaining popularity.

The next project is to deliver online video content that was feed during 36th Convocation Ceremony from Dewan Tuanku Syed Putra. xtraDime.net will deliver video from every Sidang, except Sidang 1 and Sidang 2. More information can be viewed at:

Brief about http://www.xtradime.net/

A website, purposely to provide locality to USM students and residents (as well as aliens, non-USM) to utilise the search functionality which collaborated directly with Google Inc in order to deliver search results. In the same manner, user may want to go to their frequent websites easily, and therefore a functional links have been provided at the right-top page. During any event, for example Convocation (or other important event), www.xtradime.net shall be an alternative website to deliver such content from a different perspective.

One of www.xtradime.net success was to deliver real-time video feed for USM 36th Convocation Ceremony that received hits from USA, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and some Europe country.

During the time, www.xtradime.net received more than 300,000 hits per day for nearly aweek.

Another function added to the website is the visitor IP. But not only limited to IP number, www.xtradime.net also detecting the original visitor Country. (Note: as part of our commitment for privacy, we do not keep/save the IP, but for statistical reason, we only save the country origin).

www.xtadime.net shall add more functionality in the near future, without over-loading the website. We are looking for your support.

Man, it was superb to download file from rapidshare at the speed 1Mb per second. Very, very fast! Downloading using Internet Download Manager, though Flashget would be my preferred download manager.

Creative Research (Photo Enlargement)

In the past few weeks, I has been busy doing some research for tools needed for large demographic of users, to which what do they really want to use, and after contacting 2 companies, I named it here Company A*, from San Diego (California, USA) and company B* from Netherlands.

I was supposed to do research how and what do customer wants from a simple and direct usage of imaging software. Learning the purpose of the software, I had come (after making a number of testing) with a result to make comparison between the two.

These two softwares, come with main purpose to enlarge small pictures.

Please take a look at the original image.

Using normal enlargement traits, the result can be seen below. This enlargement was only at 113% from original and no enhancement has been made.

Using the software to enlarge at contraint proportion point 300%, 150 dpi. The result would be as follows.

It is important to bear in mind, that the purpose of this test is to show enlarged result made from original small and low-resolution image. For high resolution image, the result will not be much evident. A prudent result can be seen using software from Company B. In this result, no alteration has been made after the photo has been enlarged.

This tools can be implement its usage for DTP, digital forensic and poster-maker.

Please also note that for high-resolution picture, that taken using ordinary digital camera, a software named DCE AutoEnhance (by MediaChance of Canada) can do the appropariate work for the price of USD39.00

* As, for legal reason that I had mentioned to them, I will not be naming those companies here. We are going to have a new collaboration that yet to be chosen which company.
